The Dove Lane Restoration — Help Us Bring a Home Back to Life

A home restoration campaign · Colorado

Nursing a home back to health.

Providing shelter from the Northern Colorado weather is a feat in and of itself, but home has a purpose and meaning that goes deeper than that. It’s a sanctuary, a place for rest and recuperation, thinking, creating and the building of family and relationships. Back then, offering a home to those in need was not something the owner thought hard about. Now, after learning of the far reaching consequences of hosting those with health problems and their activities, this campaign is to raise the funds necessary to restore a cherished homes environmental health, not only meeting state guidelines but surpassing them to leave the home and community as a sanctuary.

What happened

An honest account, told with compassion.

Welcome to the Dove Lane Restoration Project. Empathy can be expensive! This campaign is looking to assist the homeowner and community by raising the funds necessary to fully remediate the home after hosts empathetically provided housing to inhabitants having health issues and their related activities. Thorough and complete environmental restoration of a cherished residential home which suffered severe indoor air and environmental contamination is already underway. To make the home safe, healthy, and fully habitable once again, we are executing an exhaustive remediation plan. We are raising funds to address both past urgent mitigation costs and the upcoming, intensive mechanical overhauls required to ensure long-term health and safety. The campaign’s goal is to restore the homes environmental health and make it a welcoming, nurturing home for its next inhabitants.

Under Colorado law, once contamination like this is identified, the home cannot simply be cleaned and aired out. It requires professional assessment, certified decontamination, and independent industrial-hygiene testing before it is legally and medically safe to occupy again.

Insurance and other recovery channels were pursued first; the remaining costs shown below are what those channels could not cover.

Dove Lane Restoration LLC is a for-profit entity. Contributions support our research and remediation efforts but are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal or state income tax purposes.

The remediation plan

Four phases.

Each phase is performed by certified environmental contractors and validated by independent industrial-hygiene testing.

Phase 1 · Complete ✓ Paid out of pocket

Emergency assessment & initial decontamination

Specialized testing, deep structural cleaning, and clearance protocols — costs already incurred and paid personally. Donations toward this phase reimburse those documented expenses.

$11,500

Phase 2 · Upcoming

Full HVAC & ductwork replacement

The home’s air-handling system absorbed contaminants and is being cleaned and tested. Success of this campaign would allow for and replacing it regardless off the test results — including new ductwork and high-grade filtration.

$22,500 estimated

Phase 3 · Upcoming

Wall & ceiling rehabilitation

While state testing does not call for any demolotion work, Success of this campaign would allow for elective removal and replaceement of affected drywall.

$6,500 estimated

Phase 4 · Final

Independent clearance certification

Certified industrial-hygiene testing and state-recognized clearance documentation proving the home meets a fully safe, non-hazardous baseline.

$3,000 estimated
